Visitor info & building guidelines
Keeping our community safe, respectful, and running smoothly together
Visitor Info
Welcome to The Church of the Double Portion. To ensure our building remains a safe, hygienic, and welcoming space for all our groups, visitors, and volunteers, we kindly ask that you review our site guidelines below.
Building Rules & Facilities
A Smoke and Vape Free Site:
In line with our building policy, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. Thank you for keeping our air clean. An Alcohol-Free Zone:
This is an alcohol-free site. To maintain a safe environment for everyone, anyone found drinking alcohol on the premises will be asked to leave.A Nut-Free Zone:
For the safety of those with severe allergies, our building is a strict nut-free zone. Please do not bring any nuts or nut-based products into the building.Dogs & Pets:
No dogs are allowed inside the building, with the exception of registered service dogs. This is to ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene.Parking Priority:
If you require parking on-site, you must get explicit permission from Mark in advance. This ensures that our paid venue-hire groups have priority access to spaces.24-Hour CCTV:
For your safety and crime prevention, 24-hour CCTV is in operation on these premises. This scheme is controlled by Leanne, and images are recorded for security purposes.Free Food Advice & Disclaimer
Take at Your Own Risk:
All free food is taken entirely at your own risk. This food is donated daily from a variety of sources, including supermarkets, the Real Junk Food Project, and local neighbors. Because of this, some items may be past their "best before" date or may not have original labels intact.Understanding "Use By" Dates:
This date is safety-critical. It tells you the food is safe to eat or drink up to that specific date, and it should not be consumed afterward.Understanding "Best Before" Dates:
This is a quality mark, not a safety mark. It indicates when the food is at its peak. While it may not be at its absolute best after this date, it is entirely up to you as the consumer to decide if it is still perfectly fine to eat.Live Streams & Photography
Church Live Streams:
Our services are live-streamed online for those unable to attend in person. The camera focuses primarily on the people speaking at the front. If you do not wish to appear on camera, please sit at the rear of the church, which is a designated off-camera zone.Promotional Photos:
Photographs may be taken during various community events for funding applications and promotional use.
Now you know how to make the most of your visit.
A building is only ever as warm as the people inside it. Meet the leadership and pastoral care teams who bring this community to life every single week, with genuine care and dedication.
